More about Australian Industrial Wear
AIW has supplied industrial workwear for more than 20 years, with safety, durability and wearer comfort central to the brand’s approach. Its clothing has been developed for demanding Australian industries, including construction, mining, rail and road transport. The broader range combines traditional workwear with AIW-X, a more contemporary collection influenced by modern streetwear styling and movement-focused garment design.
The features and fabrics vary across the range. Selected AIW garments use TrueDry® cotton-back micromesh, CoolDry® moisture-management fabrics, stretch ripstop construction, flexible segmented reflective tape or biomotion tape configurations. Other styles use cotton drill, polyester fleece and durable woven fabrics. These options allow buyers to compare breathability, movement, warmth, visibility, pocket layouts and garment construction for different roles and conditions.
Through PlusEmbroidery, AIW garments can be ordered plain or decorated to order. Embroidery is suitable for many work shirts, polos, jackets, fleece garments, vests and outerwear, while DTF printing may suit compatible non-FR garments. For hi-vis, reflective or safety-related clothing, check the individual product’s standards, day or night classification, tape configuration, fabric and workplace requirements before ordering. Our Decoration Help Centre can help you plan a consistent logo treatment across your AIW workwear.
Why buy AIW through PlusEmbroidery?
AIW is focused on practical clothing for active industrial and trade environments. Its range helps businesses coordinate work shirts, polos, pants, shorts, jackets, fleece, vests and coveralls across different roles and working conditions.
PlusEmbroidery can supply AIW garments plain or decorated to order, allowing you to build branded workwear for site crews, trades, maintenance teams, transport operations, warehouses and industrial workplaces.
AIW ranges and workwear technologies
AIW combines traditional industrial workwear with the more contemporary AIW-X range. Selected garments use TrueDry® or CoolDry® moisture-management fabrics, stretch ripstop construction, segmented reflective tape and biomotion configurations.
These features are product-specific. Check each garment’s fabric, weight, stretch, pocket design, tape configuration, visibility classification and stated standards rather than assuming every AIW product provides the same performance.
Choosing the right AIW workwear
Begin with the wearer’s role and working environment. Consider whether the garment is needed for indoor work, outdoor work, hot conditions, cold starts, high-movement tasks, day visibility, night visibility or changing weather.
For hi-vis and reflective garments, confirm the required standard, day or night classification, tape pattern, fabric and site rules. Compare the measurements for each style using our Size and Fit Guide, as sizing can differ between shirts, polos, outerwear, pants and coveralls.
Adding your logo
Embroidery can provide a durable, professional finish on many AIW shirts, polos, jackets, fleece garments and vests. PlusEmbroidery’s embroidery minimum charge is equivalent to 10 logos.
DTF printing may suit compatible non-FR garments and has a minimum charge equivalent to 5 logos. Vector EPS or AI artwork is required. DTF must not be used on FR garments or fabrics that may be damaged by the required application heat.
Logo size and position may need to work around pockets, seams, reflective tape and garment panels. Review our Artwork Requirements and Decoration Help Centre before finalising your order.
FAQs about Australian Industrial Wear
What industries is AIW workwear designed for?
AIW develops workwear for trades, construction, mining, rail and road transport, warehousing, maintenance and other industrial environments. The correct garment depends on the wearer’s role, conditions and specific workplace requirements.
What are TrueDry®, CoolDry® and AIW-X?
TrueDry® and CoolDry® are used in selected AIW garments to help manage moisture and wearer comfort. AIW-X is a contemporary AIW range combining workwear function with more modern styling, stretch and movement-focused construction. These technologies are not included in every AIW garment, so check the individual product information.
Can PlusEmbroidery add our logo to AIW workwear?
Yes. Many AIW shirts, polos, jackets, fleece garments and vests can be embroidered. DTF printing may suit compatible non-FR garments. The best method and position depend on the fabric, garment panels, pockets, reflective tape and logo detail.
Does every AIW hi-vis garment meet the same safety standard?
No. Standards and classifications differ between garments. Some styles are designed for day use, some for night use and some for day and night use. Tape patterns, fabric, reflective materials and other features also vary. Check the specifications of the exact product against your workplace or site requirements before ordering.
